Hi john,

I'm very sorry about what you've been through first off. I'm a trauma survivor as well and have been in two major accidents, the first a drowsy driver head-on. I was pinned in the vehicle for an hour and a half and rescue had to use the Jaws to pull the front end off me before they could cut the roof and pull me out. Second was a fatal drunk driving accident that I had the amazing privilege of walking away from.

We do our best to pull news in, and use google feeds mostly to find this stuff. They only feed us a certain amount of articles and we post what we feel is most compelling. If you're looking for news reports specifically, you can try a google news search with the drunk drivers name as the search term. We'd be happy to put the article up next week. I would also like to extend the opportunity to tell your story here! You're more than welcomed to submit whatever you want in terms of an article, or you can even start blogging with us if you like.

One more very important resource is the Trauma Survivors Network http://www.traumasurvivorsnetwork.org - you should check it out.

We may have missed your case, but trust me, this site is all about you and the 10s of thousands of trauma survivors out there. The DUI roundup is intended to be a weekly reminder (as it seems we need to be reminded every week) that people are suffering trauma death and trauma injury every hour of every day in this country, DUI is 100% preventable, one day we may actually get disturbed about these reckless murderers and put them where they belong.

I know what you've been through, I've been through it too my fellow hero!

Why is it those DUI drivers who take full resposibility (DION GUSSNER) get longer jail time, over all than those drivers that fight the conviction?
If I ever or any family memeber gets into this trouble I will advise them to deny(in the face of facts) and fight in court for years. If you take responsibility you will get more time. No reward for being honest and responsible.
